Ste. Anne’s Spa

Husband and I finished celebrating our one year wedding anniversary with a trip to Ste. Anne’s Spa! It was an amazing mini getaway and a much needed luxury R&R. They definitely live up to their “#1 Spa in Canada” title.

I have broken up Ste. Anne’s into two different posts because the culinary experience over there deserves its own post.

Here is what our itinerary looked like:

Spa Itinerary for Antoinette Senzen

8:45 AM – 9:15 AM (30min)

Couples Massage
10:15 AM – 11:15 AM (60min)

12:30 PM – 1:30 PM (60min)

Husband and I drove the 90mins from Toronto to Grafton and arrived at Ste. Anne’s around 1:30 PM. After checking in, and a quick orientation and tour, we were given keys to our cottage! Husband and I stayed about 1/3KM from the main inn at the Haldiman East cottage. It was so quaint and cozy and had a very “bed and breakfast” feel to it. The first few photos above were taken in a field outside of our cottage.

We were also given robes and slippers and were encouraged to wear them throughout our entire stay, which we did. Because it was cold out, we took advantage of the shuttle service that was available to get from our cottage to the main inn where most of the action took place (reception, dining room, massage rooms, facilities, etc.). Otherwise, it would’ve been about a 10min walk.

Every single staff member was friendly, kind, and accommodating to our needs. We received 5 star service from the minute I booked our stay to when we left the resort.

Let me say that one night at this resort was NOT enough! I say this because there were so many things to do. Since we were so relaxed we really just wanted to sleep. A nap was out of the question though because we wouldn’t have had time to take advantage of all the facilities.

The grounds at Ste. Anne’s were beautiful. They had a trail that I wanted to walk but it was too cold out and again, didn’t have time. I think staying here during the summer would make the experience even better!

Another thing I would’ve changed is where our massages were scheduled on the itinerary. I would’ve preferred to have it on the first day. Our couples massage was scheduled right before lunch on the second day. So after having my body beaten into relaxation, and having our stomachs filled, we just wanted to sleep. But we had already checked out of our rooms at noon so instead of napping, I had to drive the 90mins back to Toronto :(

I recommend this spa. Husband and I want to go back. Actually, we never wanted to leave in the first place! We were the youngest people there during our stay. Also, there were more women there in groups of two or more than there were couples. A girl’s weekend away here would be fabulous!

O yea..AND…

Two days before our trip I see this deal on Travelzoo! $149/person (reg $315) for an overnight stay at Ste. Anne’s Spa! Are you kidding me?? I was totally kicking myself and immediately had to share it with my family and friends. Bulls and bullfrogs!

This place is very pricey. If you can fork out the dough, I say go for it. But if you’re as frugal as me, I’d suggest waiting until another deal comes out on one of those deal sites (still kicking myself)! But still, we thought every penny was worth it!

Had a wonderful first year of marriage with Husband! Only 49 more years until our 50th!
